We're Engaged!
SEATTLE, WA :: It shouldn't be a surprise to our family and friends, but Kristie and I are now officially betrothed! I surprised her with dinner at Palace Kitchen, where we had our very first date five years ago. After our nice meal, we went to the beach at Golden Gardens, where we were first introduced to each other during the Summer of '99. It's amazing how much things have changed! I lit a bonfire and we sat on a log to reminisce on our wonderful lives together.

I somehow mustered up enough courage to tell her I didn't want to be her boyfriend any longer. I said I wanted to be her fiancé and husband, and I popped the question. She replied with a sudden gush of tears, which I took as a yes.

The ring was custom designed and crafted at Green Lake Jewelry Works. For three months, I worked with their consultants to come up with a perfect and unique engagement ring for Kristie. We used sketches, CAD, and precisely milled wax models to refine the design. They were very helpful and great to work with throughout the entire process, and I was very happy with the end result. Most importantly, Kristie absolutely loves it.

We were engaged on Friday the 13th. From now on, those dates will no longer be a bad omen, but a happy reminder of a very special day.

The ring is absolutely breathtaking. This is wonderful news! I think you are such a great guy and will take good care of Kristie. Hopefully we can have an engagement celebration dinner or something when I am in town (Dec 22-24 and Jan 7-10).
