Knott's Berry Farm
SOUTHWEST VACATION DAY 5 :: BUENA PARK, CA :: A new roller coaster named "The Silver Bullet" opened last year at Knott's Berry Farm. We rode it and it was insane! Just writing about it makes me queasy. The photo above shows us in the midst of experiencing gravity, acceleration and inertia in ways our bodies weren't meant to handle. I held tight onto my glasses, which I was warned to remove before the ride. I foolishly ignored the warning.
The first photo below shows the coaster's merciless track. The cars are inverted, allowing your feet to dangle in the air. It's also quiet, smooth and fast - it feels very much like you're flying for a few seconds. But after the first drop, the sensation is like being swung around on the end of a giant's whip. We both found it difficult to walk straight for a while after the ride.
